An alternative/eclectic Americana band based in Clinton, The Tweed Band was formed in the beginning of 2010 by solo singer/songwriter John Castello, who had a desire to collaborate with other musicians. Castello had been performing and recording albums since early 2002. Castello makes note of how the name of the band fits the definition of tweed because it is a rough, coarse, itchy, unfinished woolen fabric of a soft, open, and flexible texture. Tweeds are desirable for informal outerwear, being moisture-resistant and durable. The band members affectionately refer to their fans as “Tweeds”.
The Tweed Band was comprised of musicians John Castello guitars and vocals, Dan Crissey drums and Timothy Parker keyboards.
